dress code
For all classes:
Hair must be secured away from the face. Acceptable hairstyles are ponytails, buns, braids, locs, or twists. The most important thing is that hair won’t be in your face or bothering you during class. Some classes require a ballet bun, see below.
Jewelry:
Personal jewelry, other than small stud earrings, should not be worn for class.
Legs must be covered for all classes. Tights are required for all classes that include ballet. Hip Hop students should wear full-length leggings or tights under their shorts.
Ballet/Tap/Jazz shoes from Target, Walmart, etc. do not meet our dress code.
Pre-Ballet 1-3, Kids Combos A-D (Ballet & Tap Combos), Broadway Baby
- Leotard and tights, any color. No leggings or sweater tights.
- Skirts are optional, separate or attached to the leotard.
- Ballet wrap sweaters and leg warmers are the only cover-ups/warm-ups allowed.
- Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
- Kids Combos A-D Only: Black tap shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
Junior and Intermediate Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo Classes
- Leotard, solid colors only.
- Tights – white, light pink, black, or skin tone.
- Patterened or multi-colored shorts are allowed in tap and jazz class only. Solid color dance shorts or a ballet skirt are permitted for ballet class.
- Ballet wrap sweaters and leg warmers are allowed.
- Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
- Black tap shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
- Revolution Dark Tan or Toast Jazz Boot – Must be purchased at the studio.
Teen & Senior Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo
- Leotard, solid colors only.
- Tights – white, light pink, black, or skin tone.
- Patterened or multi-colored shorts are allowed in tap and jazz class only. Solid color dance shorts or a ballet skirt are permitted for ballet class.
- Ballet wrap sweaters and leg warmers are allowed.
- Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
- Revolution Brand Premium Tap Shoes – Must be purchased at the studio.
- Revolution Dark Tan or Toast Jazz Boot – Must be purchased at the studio.
Hip Hop Classes
- Dance or fitness apparel, including dance pants, leggings, or shorts/capris with tights. Legs must always be covered in the studio.
- T-shirt or tank top.
- For school year classes, please visit our store to be fitted for the correct shoes.
- For Winter, Spring, or Summer Classes you can wear any clean pair of sneakers that isn’t worn outdoors.
- If you are in a Hip Hop Crew, your shoes are included in your costume and you do not need to visit the store to be sized. If you are also in non-competitive hip hop class you will need to be fitted for those shoes.
Musical Theater Jazz & Latin Classes
- Solid color leotard and tights OR dance or fitness apparel, including dance pants, leggings, or shorts/capris with tights. Legs must always be covered in the studio.
- Snug-fitting t-shirt, tank top, or a leotard.
- Revolution Dark Tan or Toast Jazz Boot – must be purchased at the studio.
Junior, Intermediate, and Teen/Senior Ballet
- Solid colored leotard,
- Tights – White, pink, or skin tone.
- A solid-colored ballet skirt is optional.
- Leg warmers or ballet wrap sweaters are allowed.
- Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes (Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio brand).
Pre-Pointe, Beginning & Intermediate Pointe
- Black leotard and light pink or white tights.
- Pre-Pointe: Pink leather or canvas ballet slippers
- Beginning & Intermediate Pointe: Pink satin pointe shoes and pink leather or canvas ballet slippers are both required.
- Black ballet skirts are optional – shorts will not be allowed.
- Solid-color leg warmers and ballet wrap sweaters are permitted.
- Sports bras should not be worn under a leotard unless they are also black.

Adult Classes
- Dance or fitness apparel, including dance pants, leggings, or shorts/capris with tights and a snug fitting top. Legs must always be covered in the studio.
- Shoes:
- Ballet – Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. Preferred brands are Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio.
- Tap – Black tap shoes. Preferred brands are Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio.
- Jazz – Tan/Skin tone matched jazz boot. Preferred brands are Revolution, Bloch, or Capezio.
- Hip Hop – Clean sneakers that are not worn outdoors.
Performance Companies
- Solid color leotard and tights OR dance or fitness apparel, including dance pants, leggings, or shorts/capris with tights. Legs must always be covered in the studio.
- Snug-fitting t-shirt, tank top, or a leotard.
- Revolution Dark Tan or Toast Jazz Boot – must be purchased at the studio.
